Dr. JASON BYRD, Ph.D.

Jason H. Byrd, Ph.D., is a Board Certified Forensic Entomologist and Educational Program Director with the William R. Maples Center for Forensic Medicine, Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Florida, College of Medicine. 

He also instructs courses in Forensic Science at the University of Florida?s Hume Residential Honors College. 

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and Secretary of the American Board of Forensic Entomology, in which he maintains a Diplomate status.  His research has focused upon the development and behavior of flies of forensic importance.

Dr. Byrd specializes in developing educational tools and workshops for medical examiners, attorneys, judges, and law enforcement personnel.

He is a certified law enforcement instructor, and he is instructional faculty with the Virginia Institute of Forensic Science and Medicine in Richmond, Virginia.
